SHOT OF THE DAY – EMPIRE STATE BUILDING, NEW YORK

New York was the final real trip we took before Covid hit. My wife and I were there for Christmas of 2019 with no idea of what was in store for the world and how it would affect us all. So looking back at these photos now has a really interesting feeling since so much has changed, and so much has returned somewhat to normal since.

Both my wife and I are big fans of art deco, we love the architecture and the furniture of the period and could not wait to visit the amazing Empire State Building when we were in New York city.

The view from the top is obviously amazing! The incredible scale of the city stretches out before you into the distance. We were lucky enough to get a really nice winter sunset whilst we visited (I had been keeping very close tabs on the weather before booking the tour), and was able to get this shot as the sun set over the skyline.
