SHOT OF THE DAY – GLACIER POINT, YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
SHOT OF THE DAY – GLACIER POINT, YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
I finally made it back to Yosemite. First time with Mike in 2016, this time with my wife Katherine as part of my World Cup 2026 assignment. I had earmarked the Sentinel Dome to Glacier Point hiking track as a less busy route, and boy was it worth it. On a coolish summer’s day with some impending storms, we decided to take the risk photo wise. Blue lifeless skies are never ideal, and nor is cloud. What you want is what we got. Beautfiul blue skies with plenty of cloud detail. The sun casting shadows across the granite landscape, creating a view that looked different every time you looked. Its fair to say I was happy. A stunning place and hard to descibe its beauty in words.
This view is actually away from the main viewing area along the Panorama Trail. The trees in the foreground are beautifully composed in front of you and there are no crowds.
