SHOT OF THE DAY – KYOTO, JAPAN

Kyoto is incredible! Not sure what else I need or have to say! There are few places in the world that I could revisit over and over again and NEVER get sick of, London, Yosemite and now, Kyoto!

Chris and I walked through these streets during the day, and it was packed with tourists and locals, making photos very hard to get. So, after another full day of photography and 30,000 steps, we walked back late one night and got the photo we really wanted!

I love black and white photography, and when not shooting on film, my Lightroom catalog is HUGE since I convert almost every image to see how it looks in monochrome. The color of this shot is really nice with the golden light and blue sky, but there is something about black and white that not only brings out the details in the texture of the stone and wood, but also has a more timeless feeling.
