SHOT OF THE DAY – MALDON, AUSTRALIA

On one of the trips I took to see family back in Australia, Chris took my parents and I to visit his parents that were living in a small town outside of Melbourne called Maldon.

A beautiful small town that is steeped in history due to it being notable for the rich quartz and gold mines in the area, it has been incredibly well preserved, especially the fantastic Railway station.

Built in 1884, the station is still home to a number of amazing steam train engines and their carriages. You can take small trips on the trains to the larger town of Castlemaine, but I loved the platform that still was decorated with the old carts and baggage. Anytime I can take a photo that is hard to pin on when it was taken, or looks like it could have been something shot long ago, I have to get it!
